Most people book their first hot towel shave as a present, or the day before a wedding. Most of them book the second one for no reason at all.
What happens in the chair
The chair goes back. A hot towel softens the beard for a few minutes while the room goes quiet. Then oil, a warm lather and the first pass with the razor, with the grain. A second towel, a second pass, and a cold towel at the end to close everything up.
Why a razor and not a cartridge
A straight razor cuts one hair at a time, at the angle the barber chooses. There is no dragging, no five blades pulling at the skin, and far less irritation afterwards, especially on the neck.
Before you come
Leave the beard alone for two or three days so there is something to shave. If your skin is sensitive, tell Ari when you sit down. He will skip the second pass and you will still leave smoother than you have been in years.
